Celebrating Classic Rybovich Boats & The Golden Age of Sportfishing

I hope you love this video of the 1955 Rybovich Hull #20 -- it's a gift from her owners where "Twenty" is making waves in Japan! The Rybovich book tells the story behind each of the boats my dad built (the self-taught designer/builder, Tommy Rybovich) before he died, at age 52.

Hull #20 has a great story: Ernest Hemingway told his friend Peter Ballantine (heir to the Ballantine brewing company) that if he wanted to be a part of the 1950s-60s sportfishing action,  “You need to get a Rybo!”
 So in 1955, Peter commissioned Rybo Hull #20, “Three Rings.” custom-built of mahogany to his specifications.

"Twenty" has a special place in my heart, as she was my dad's obsession the year I was born. I love this video and am thrilled to see "Twenty" (at 67 years) is still turning heads...in Japan!
